Northern Fund Call for Proposals for projects beginning in 2027

The Pacific Salmon Commission’s Northern Fund Committee (NFC) has issued its 2027 Call for Proposals for projects which are consistent with, and necessary for, the implementation of the Pacific Salmon Treaty. Applications are welcome from private, non-profit, and public sector organizations.

The NFC is seeking potential projects for the Northern Boundary and Transboundary areas that are consistent with the Fund’s goals that involve:

    • Development of improved information for resource management, including better stock assessment, data acquisition and improved scientific understanding of limiting factors affecting salmon production in the freshwater and marine environments;
    • Rehabilitation and restoration of marine and freshwater fish habitat, and improvement of habitat to enhance productivity and protection of Pacific salmon; and
    • Enhancement of wild stock production through low technology techniques rather than through large facilities with high operating costs

Interested applicants should download and review the Northern Fund 2027 Call for Project Concepts for full application details.

Project concepts must be submitted through the grantee portal submission form. The submission deadline is 11:59 p.m. PT on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

Videos to assist with navigating the grantee portal and application process will be added soon. Please check back for updates.

Questions should be directed to the Grant Program Manager, Sascha Bendt, or the Program Assistant, Victor Keong via phone at (604) 684-8081, or email: funds@psc.org
