About the Test Fisheries

The Pacific Salmon Commission operates various test fisheries both in Canada and the U.S. to provide information for the assessment and management of Fraser River sockeye and pink salmon. The administration and management of these test fisheries is guided by the Commission’s Test Fishing Policy.

Test fishing data is made available in-season on the Test Fishing Results page.

Maps

Below you can find a selection of helpful maps that show the locations of the test fisheries operated by the Pacific Salmon Commission and Fisheries and Oceans in the marine approaches to the Fraser River and within the river itself. In addition, there are maps of the Fraser River watershed; the BC and State of Washington Fishery Management Areas; and, where the Fraser River Panel area overlaps with these.
