Employment Opportunities

Each summer, the Pacific Salmon Commission hires temporary staff in a variety of positions.

There are opportunities for temporary full, and part-time seasonal staff working as test fishing observers on the Fraser River and in the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

The Stock ID group hires seasonal fishery samplers and the Commission’s scale lab at the Vancouver office will hire a temporary lab assistant.

In addition, up to 10 staff are hired annually as seasonal fisheries technicians and boat operators to work at the PSC’s hydroacoustic fish counting station near Mission, BC which operates 24 hours a day during the fishing season.

Permanent, full-time positions become available on a much less frequent basis.
