South Fork Nooksack River Larson’s Phase 2 Restoration

This project will construct 26 engineered log jams in the mainstem South Fork Nooksack River. Endangered early spring Chinook salmon will benefit from 23 primary pools; more pools may develop indirectly as increased roughness causes dynamic equilibrium. Juveniles will benefit from 1.42 miles of off-channel rearing habitat by increasing connectivity with the floodplain and side channels.
