BC Conservation Foundation will collaborate with the Salish Sea Marine Survival Project (SSMSP) and DFO Research and StAD biologists to continue the Cowichan Chinook juvenile PIT tagging program. The goal is to better understand migration timing and behavior of fry/fingerlings in varied mainstem and side-channel habitats through the lowest river reach and into the inner estuary. Results will assist in identifying the potential value of lower river/estuary rehabilitation projects and resources targeting Chinook recovery in the watershed.
